Everytime I go to Asia I am amazed at how good most people’s skin is. While I never struggled with acne or had particulary bad skin, I have never had the smooth and perfect skin I wanted. Especially around the cheeks I have always been prone to redness. In the winter by skin also gets super dry and patchy – not a good look.
I started reading quite a lot about Korean skin care routines and all the different steps involved in it and I thought I would give it a go. To be honest I don’t do this every night and morning (mostly because I’m lazy) but when I do, my skin feels absolutely amazing after.
I usually start by removing some of my eye make-up with the Bioderma micellar water. Then I get to the more exciting stuff:
This cleansing butter is absolutely amazing! I take quite a while massaging the balm into my skin, usually about 5 minutes at least. It’s just so relaxing! Beware: you will look like a panda before rinsing this off, because this will take care of you eye make-up completely.
I’m not really picky when it comes to this step and will usually use anythng for sensitive and dry skin, just to get any last bits of make-up off.
I don’t do this step all the time because my skin is quite sensitive. But thos product smells SO GOOD. I would eat it if I could. It leaves the skin super soft and smooth
Toner is essential to balance the skins pH-level, so don’t miss this step!
The super star of my skin care routine! I knew that this product existed but never really thought about it until we had to do a case study about it in one of my marketing classes. And after that I just had to get it! (What a weird marketing campaign haha). This essence is really amazing though, and definitely worth the money. It makes my skin feel so smooth and nourished.
Now this product might sound weird, being made out of snail slime (not really sure of that’s accurate?). But it does a great job at evening out any discoloration and redness I have!
I loooove sheet masks and when I was in Japan earlier this year I finally bought a silicon sheet mask cover that you put on top of your mask to help skin absorb the product better and to keep the mask from sliding off your face. So great!
This eye cream is so refreshing, especially in the mornings! It takes care of any puffiness and soothes the sensitive skin around the eye area.
This classic moisturizer does exactly what it says it does: moisturize! I love love love this, especially in the winter when my skin needs it the most.
Of course, this step is only necessary in the mornings and not at night time. It is also a step I often neglect, even though it is incredibly important. Do your skin a favor and protect it from the sun!
